About Middle East Technical University
"In 2002, the University finished the EUA's ""Institutional Evaluation"" procedure. In 1991, METU started a long-term campaign to have all of its engineering programs recognized by ABET as part of its efforts to ensure world-class education. In terms of the scope and depth of international research initiatives as well as the quantity of money raised from research activities, METU has been the top institution in Turkey since its founding as an international research university. METU actively participated in and oversaw numerous projects under the European Union's Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance (IPA), particularly the 7th Framework Programme, in addition to other global initiatives.
The Graduate Schools of Natural Sciences, Social Sciences, Informatics, Applied Mathematics, and Marine Sciences offer 107 graduate and 69 doctoral programs. The academic program studies at İçel-Erdemli are conducted by Marine Sciences.
By global standards, METU aims to uphold a high standard of instruction. At METU's request, ABET conducted an evaluation of all undergraduate programs within the Faculty of Engineering. The ABET Engineering Accreditation Commission granted accreditation to all undergraduate programs."

Admission Requirement
English Proficiency for Applications:
- Submitting an English proficiency score is not mandatory for undergraduate program applications.
- Applicants can upload English language exam scores to strengthen their application.
English Proficiency for Admitted Students:
- Students without valid TOEFL, IELTS, or PTE Academic scores must take the METU English Proficiency Exam.
- Those who fail to meet the minimum score in this exam must attend a one-year English Preparatory Class.
Exemption from Preparatory Class:
- Students who submit valid scores (TOEFL, IELTS, or METU EPE) at registration can skip the preparatory class and directly start their undergraduate courses.
Minimum Accepted Scores:
- METU EPE: 85-100
- TOEFL IBT: 106-120
- PTE Academic: 84-94
