About Ankara University

"One of Turkey's oldest, largest, and most prominent universities, Ankara University has 67.000 students, 4200 faculty members, and 7500 support workers. Its rich educational history dates back to the middle of the 1800s, and it is still one of the oldest and most prestigious institutions, leading the academic field.

This research-heavy university, which has 18 faculties, 13 graduate schools, 10 vocational schools, 1 state conservatorium, and 1 college of foreign languages, arranges study programs and scientific research in the domains of science, health, and social sciences. Numerous programs are available in English, and students can enroll in bachelor's, master's, doctoral, and postdoctoral study programs to pursue a comprehensive academic route.

Ankara University has offered open access to all student programs. The Distance Education Center provides and associate degree, undergraduate, and graduate education activities carried out with distance education technologies. There are more

Admission Requirement

Educational Background

Foreign candidates must have an undergraduate diploma in Educational or Social Sciences from their home country.

Turkish candidates must have an undergraduate diploma from Education Faculties or Faculties of Literature (or social sciences departments of former Faculties of Science and Literature), with at least a 2.00 out of 4.00 CGPA or an equivalent score.

English Proficiency

Candidates must have graduated from an English-medium university or meet one of the following language proficiency scores: TOEFL IBT: minimum 96 PEARSON PTE: minimum 78 CPE: minimum C CAE: minimum A YDS: minimum 70

Examination Requirement

Turkish candidates: Minimum score of 55 in ALES (National Graduate Education Science Exam).

Foreign candidates: GRE or GMAT exam results can substitute for ALES.

Admission Evaluation

The final admission decision is based on: 50% of ALES/GRE/GMAT score 20% of undergraduate GPA 30% of written exam score

1. How can I apply for a tuition refund?
To apply for a tuition refund, the original bank receipt for the contribution fee for the relevant period is submitted along with the completed “Refund Request Form” to the Ankara University Student Affairs Department Contribution Fee Unit.
2. How can I get information about international programs such as Erasmus/Exchange and apply?
You can obtain information about Erasmus/Exchange from the AB Education Programs Coordination Office (http://www.erasmus.ankara.edu.tr) or our Vocational School Erasmus Coordination Office, and applications are made online.
3. I want to work as a part-time student. What should I do?
The application process for September will be announced on the Health, Culture and Sports Directorate (http://sks.ankara.edu.tr/) website, including where and by what date applications will be made.
4. Are there any other scholarship opportunities at your Vocational School?
Meal scholarships are provided to successful students with insufficient financial means. In addition, there is a Sabancı Foundation scholarship for students in the Tourism and Travel Services Program and the Tourism and Hotel Management Program. Scholarship applications are made to the Vocational School Directorate on the announced dates.
5. How can I register for courses?
Course registrations will be made through the Student Information System at obs.ankara.edu.tr within the dates specified in the Academic Calendar as “Registration Renewal and End Dates for Students.” Follow oidb.ankara.edu.tr for interactive registration announcements and guides.
