The defining goal of the Educational Program for MD is to train
highly qualified and competent physicians who respond to
contemporary challenges. In other words, the program serves to
provide graduates with the knowledge and skills, upon which they will
be able to get a job position in the clinics, continue study to the next
level and develop their professional skills.
The objectives of the program:
Provide students with up-to-date medical knowledge;
Develop student’s clinical and communication skills necessary
for medical practice;
Generate values of medical ethics and entire professional lifelong learning skills and motivation;
Ensure high-quality medical education of the students by
introducing nationally recognised medical standards and ethical
norms.
Eligibility Requirements
Academic qualification: Completion of 12th grade from a recognized board with a minimum required percentage is 65%
Age requirement: Must be at least 17 years old at the time of application.
Entrance exam: May need to pass an entrance exam depending on the university's policy.
Language proficiency: English language proficiency may be required for international students.
SSC & HSC should be from Science.
Standardized Tests
Tbilisi State Medical University do not required any kind of Standardize test for specific program.

citizens of Georgia/foreign countries who have received complete general education in Georgia: 1) National exams; 2) English language B2 level; For entrants listed by the Order No. 224 / n of the Minister of Education and Science of Georgia (see http://www.mes.gov.ge/content.php?id=1131&lang=geo): 1) Approvement of the procedures provided by the Order No. 224/n of the Minister of Education and Science of Georgia and submitting relevant documents. 2) English language B2 level. 3) Admission exam/interview in Biology-Chemistry-Physics (Basic Issues); The following certificates can prove the knowledge of English language (B2): TOEFL, IELTS, FCE and CERTUS. If the applicant does not have the above-mentioned certificate, the English language competence will be proved at university exam.

Curriculam
The program is designed using the methodology of planning and
developing educational programs at TSMU. The program’s content
fully covers the requirements for admission and learning outcomes.
The educational program includes teaching plan and appropriate
Modules / Syllabuses. The learning outcomes of the educational
program are in line with the Higher Education Qualifications
Framework and Sectoral standards. (Decision of council of the Higher
School of Education of Medicine, 18.07.2017).The program sets
learning objectives, learning outcomes and the qualification. The
program is developed in accordance with the European Credit Transfer
System (ECTS). Educational program is focused on student and
learning outcomes.
Each module in the curriculum is corresponding to the appropriate
stage of learning. And it is based on the knowledge and skills acquired
by the student, and is itself a prerequisite for mastering the inherited
component / module. Program is multi-component and structured as
integrated modules.
The educational program includes:
Modules of Natural Sciences and Humanities (Physics,
Chemistry, Biology, History of Medicine and foreign Language),
Modules of Biomedical Sciences (Structure of Human Body, Cell and
Tissue, Early embryonic development, Morphological basis of
metabolism, Reproductive, endocrine and sense organs, Circulatory
and immune system,nervous system, Homeostasis: „From Structure to
Function”, Neural-Reflex Mechanisms of Function Regulation, Cardiac
Hemodynamic system, Metabolism, Organisms and Ecosystem,
Environmental Health).
Preclinical Modules: Response of the body to injury, Infection
and Immunopathology, Pathology of Neuroendocrine, Somatic and
Vegetative Systems, Subjective and Objective Systematic Examination
of the Patient, Integrative Course of Clinical Reasoning.
Clinical Modules: Internal Medicine, Surgery, Obstetrics and
Gynecology, Clinical Neurosciences, Communicable Diseases,
Oncology, Child diseases, Mental Health and Management, Emergency
Medicine, Head and Neck Diseases, Clinical Radiology, Medicine and
Law, Diagnosis and Treatment of Internal Diseases, Physical
Rehabilitation and Sport Medicine). Social sciences and public health,
Teaching of scientific and clinical skills.

objectively evaluate own knowledge and skills; Has the ability to look
for new, original ways of solving complex problems, including
conducting independent research using the latest methods and
approaches; Able to critically evaluate complex, incomplete and
